COLUMBUS, Ohio - For the first time in 2008 and ninth time in his storied career at OhioDominicanUniversity, quarterback Cris Reisert has been named the Mid-States Football Association Mideast League Offensive Player of the Week.
Reisert, a 6-foot-2 quarterback from MoellerHigh School in Cincinnati, Ohio, set his 35th conference record after starting the game versus McKendreeUniversity on Saturday connecting on 18 straight passes. The 18-for-18 start is also an Ohio Dominican record. He also set new conference marks for touchdown passes in a career with 108 and touch downs accounted for with 116. Reisert went on to finish the afternoon going 32-for-35 for 396 yards and four touchdown passes as he helped lead the Panthers to a 59-0 victory over the Bearcats. With just three passes not finding their mark on the day Reisert also set a new school record for completion percentage in a game at .914.
With the win ODU improves to 3-1 on the year and shutout McKendree for the first time in 12 seasons as the Bearcats slips to 1-2.
Reisert and the #9 ranked Panthers return to action this Saturday, October 4th as they travel to Fort Wayne, Indiana for the highly anticipated showdown with the #4 ranked University of St. Francis(Ind.)
